5. Google forks Java, for the short term, and calls it Gaga. Then they move to multi language, with the help of LLVM for the long term, which will also allow for an improved NDK that many complain about.

C#? Are you kidding? They don't have to switch languages, they simply have to take out the mechanisms which infringe upon the particular patents. The same patents could be infringed upon regardless of whether Java is used as the language.

The same concepts could be applied to a totally different platform, or language. C#, and IL, for instance.

Java is the most popular language thats is the reason why google supports java for android and gwt because they want to have developers.
C# developers.. are mostly users.. they are users of the ide of the expression blend they are just microsoft users who YES drag and drop a lot who YES use a microsoft only tools
